This is what we union THUGGS do to cold bodies of water

This video shows why Special Olympics is so important -- everywhere.

We plunge into them to raise money for Special Olympics training and competition.

Brother Rob Ellnor from Local 89 is raising money for Special Olympics athletes in Indiana by jumping into a freezing body of water on Feb. 16 in Borden, Ind.  He'll do it as part of the "Freezin' for a Reason 2013 Polar Plunge." Brother Ellnor has already raised $690 through the FirstGiving website.

Here's more about the Freezin' for a Reason campaign:
Get your chill' on! Sign up today to join hundreds of Hoosiers that help support sports training and athletic competition for more than 11,000 Special Olympics Indiana athletes by jumping in a cold body of water near you.  Friends don't let friends plunge alone!  Encourage a family member, school group, civic group or co-worker to participate with you at the event!  The 2013 Plunge season promises to have lots of magical moments from crazy costumes to super splashes.  It's an event you don't want to miss.
Way to go, Brother Ellnor. (You can help him out here.)

And remember: THUGGS stands for Those Helpful Union Guys and Gals.
