Woo-hoo! Repeal SB5 campaign gets the green light

We just got the news: Ohio officials gave the go-ahead for SB5 opponents to collect signatures to put repealing the law on the November ballot.

Ohio's attorney general certified the "short version " of proposed summary language. Columbus Business First has the story:

The “We Are Ohio” group backing a repeal of the state’s recently approved collective bargaining legislation clinched key green lights from Secretary of State Jon Husted and Attorney General Mike DeWine Friday. Husted certified a batch of signatures backing petition language as valid, while DeWine approved a version of the petition language itself.
The groups submitted a short version of the Senate Bill 5 repeal language and a longer, 28-page version that DeWine rejected in a letter as “far too lengthy and detailed to be considered a short and concise summing up the matter to be referred.”

The shorter, five-page version will be the one put before registered voters. Petitioners have until June 30.
